Healthy meal plan to prevent breast cancer

There are a number of factors in our day to day lives that can increase our chances of getting cancer. Breast cancer is still a big killer in the female population and if it is true that following a healthy meal plan can prevent this terrible disease, it seems worth it to try it. Science has shown us that lifestyle and nutrition actually plays a huge role in preventing breast cancer. Another factor that women should look out for is a vitamin D3 deficiency, which is said to increase the chance of developing the disease by 70%.

Eating the right way can prevent not just different types of cancer, but also many other diseases. The foods that should be concentrated on are those high in antioxidants. These should be part of any healthy meal plan because they protect our DNA from the damage done by free radicals.

Also part of a healthy meal plan is any foods that contain high amounts of fibres and that score low on the GI (Glycaemic Index) as well as those that are high in Omega 3, an essential fatty acid. Naturally, a healthy meal plan is low in calories, although there are specific plans for women with breast cancer who need to gain weight too.
Some foods that are known to prevent breast cancer include green tea, carrots, cereals, apples, nuts, beans, walnuts, flaxseed, broccoli, pomegranate, salmon, milk fortified with vitamin D, mackerel, sardines, cod, tuna, eggs and shrimp. All of these foods are packed with the vitamins, minerals and other nutrients we need in order to sustain ourselves, but they also promote many other health benefits. Some are known as super fruits or super foods, meaning they contain in a single serving all the nutrients we need to sustain ourselves in a single day.
